Brook Summers Obituary

Thomas Brook Summers, 39, and Heidi Burtenshaw Summers, 36, of Ammon, passed away on the morning of Sunday, March 13, 2016. The small airplane they were flying in crashed within miles of the Alpine, Wyo., airport.

They left behind four beautiful children, Sadie (12), Aspen (10), Maizy (8) and Nixon (6). Brook was the son of Charles and Janet Summers. Heidi was the daughter of Craig and Karma Burtenshaw.

Brook and Heidi both grew up in southeast Idaho. Brook graduated from Rigby High School, and Heidi graduated from Bonneville High School.

Brook served an LDS mission in Bacolod, Philippines. Brook and Heidi both attended Ricks College. Brook graduated from Idaho State University and later received his doctorate of dental surgery from the University of Pacific in San Francisco. While in San Francisco, Heidi worked as an orthodontic assistant, supporting her husband through dental school.

They were married Feb. 11, 2000. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on April 6, 2001. They enjoyed skiing, tennis and traveling. Above all, their kids were the focus of their lives, and they meant everything to Brook and Heidi.
