Carol Ruth Paul Murphy, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away Dec. 25, 2009, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Carol was born June 4, 1925, in Potsdam, N.Y., the daughter of Kyler Paul and Mildred McNulty Paul. She grew up and attended schools in upstate New York. She earned an education degree from the State University of New York at Potsdam in 1945.
On Sept. 2, 1950, she married Gerald Francis Murphy of Oswegatchie, N.Y. They lived in Maryland for 44 years before moving to Pocatello, Idaho, in 1994, where they remained happily married until his death in 2007. She enjoyed the last two years of her life at the Fairwinds-Sandcreek Retirement Community, where she spoke of many new friends and enjoyable events.
She is survived by her two sons, Thomas (Dawn) Murphy of Doylestown, Pa., Timothy (Darla) Murphy of Idaho Falls; a sister, Jane (Phil) Lehrbach of Penfield, N.Y.; and her grandchildren, Austin Murphy and Karen Murphy, both of Idaho Falls, Christa (Patrick) Griffie of Cecilton, Md., Jon Murphy of Philadelphia, Pa., and Thomas Murphy of Doylestown, Pa.; and one great-grandchild, Evan Griffie of Cecilton, Md.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; and a brother, Robert Paul.
