CALDWELL -- Curtis James Hansen, 37, of Caldwell, Idaho, died April 15, 2008, at home after a short battle with cancer.
He was born Dec. 24, 1970, in Ogden, Utah, to William J. and Barbara R. Hansen. He grew up and attended schools in Shelley. He graduated from Shelley High School in 1989.
On Nov. 10, 1990, he married Claudette Myers. They lived in Utah before moving to Caldwell. He was attending Boise State University and received an honorary diploma in environmental science.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as an elder and in the young men's Scouting program.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, picking and eating berries, identifying plants and rocks and taking pictures of wildlife. His classmates, friends and family delighted in his quick mind and witty humor; Curt was a very good husband and father and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Claudette, of Caldwell; parents, William and Barbara Hansen of Shelley; siblings, Rex W. Hansen of Boise, Cammon Clark, Aimee Goodrich and Gregory Hansen, all of Fort Worth, Texas, and Melinda Donoho of Dixon, Ill.; and children, Bronte, Taylor, Mariah and Madison Hansen, all of Caldwell.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, at the Farmway LDS Chapel, 15782 Farmway Road in Caldwell under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel of Caldwell. The family will visit with friends for one hour Tuesday before services at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com.

Claudette, the last time I saw you and Curtis we had all managed to stop at the same gas station in Twin Falls as you were moving to Caldwell and we were moving to Boise. We saw Curt at work a couple of times, but never ended up getting together with all of you. Sad how we don't take advantage of such opportunities. Now Randy and I live in Colorado, and I didn't hear the news in time to join in with the other class of '89ers, so I wanted to offer my condolences in at least some way. Curt was always a great guy. My prayers are with you and your family.

I am so sorry to hear about Curtis's passing. Gary Hampton (my uncle) and Curtis were great friends. I met the family several times as we enjoyed their visits to our family cabin during the summers. Our kids played on the beach together and had lots of fun. My heart goes out to the family! Remember he is with you. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Please let me know if I can be of any help at this time of sorrow.
