David Jeffreys Obituary
David Dean Jeffreys, 69, of Leighton, Ala. passed away June 11, 2013, from an extended battle with cancer. Visitation will be Thursday June 13, 2013, from 5-8 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, June 14, in the chapel. Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Brother Mark Mayfield will be officiating.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillie and Austin Jeffreys;
brothers, T.A., Frank, Clyde and Carl Jeffreys;
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Jeffreys;
son, Shane Jeffreys; wife, Rebekah Jeffreys;
grandchildren, Bethany Jeffreys, Benjamin Jeffreys, Samuel Jeffreys; and granddaughter to be, Harmony Jeffreys;
"adopted" granddaughters, Kensey and Kaylee Poston;
special nieces and nephews,
Leonard Jeffreys, Jerry Jeffreys, Lloyd Jeffreys and James Jeffreys;
sisters, Lennice Wiley and Edith Jezek;
brother, Leonard Jeffreys, of Jonesboro, Ga., Lloyd Jeffreys, of Tuscumbia, James Jeffreys, of Springtown, Texas, and Jerry Jeffreys, of Tishomingo, Miss.
Pallbearers will be Keith Poston, Wesley Burden, Dwyatt Jeffreys, Gregg Jeffreys, Robert Jeffreys and Jeff Box. Honorary pallbearers are deacons from Leighton Baptist Church and members of Listerhill Credit Union.
He was a loving husband, father, granddaddy, uncle and friend to countless numbers. He was a retired machinist from Reynolds Wise Alloys and deacon at Leighton Baptist Church.
Mr. Jeffreys was a 34-year board member of Listerhill Credit Union, a board member of Brick Hatton Fire Department. and a U.S. Army veteran from 1967-1969.
He was a very special man that could brighten your soul with laughter. Even in sickness his sense of humor was present.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors at North West Cancer Center: Dr. Patel, Dr. Hagler and Dr. Daugherty and the 3rd and 4th floor nurses at Helen Keller Hospital for all the care and love shown to our loved one.
Donations may be made to Leighton Baptist Church or American Cancer Society.

I'm so sad to be seeing this today. I didn't know. He was so precious and always so sweet to me! I love you and praying God will comfort you and Shane. He's in heaven for sure smiling at everyone and teasing probably! : )
