Homer "Lee" Anderson, 91, of Idaho Falls, passed away Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, at Good Samaritan Society.
He was born Sept. 27, 1917, in Elwood, Utah, to Homer LaSalle Anderson and Geneva May Pack Anderson. He attended public schools in Utah. He attended Utah State University in 1936. He attended Brigham Young University in 1938 and 1939. He served as a major in the U.S. Army National Guard during World War II and the Korean War.
He married Ina Ruth Eames in Woods Cross, Utah, on Feb. 7, 1941. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
He married Vera "Lettie" Hill Madsen on June 2, 1988, in Idaho Falls.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a financial clerk and as high priest group leader.
He enjoyed bowling, golf, fishing, gardening, attending BYU games and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ruth Anderson; son, Lyndon Earl Anderson; daughter, Gale Christine Anderson; and brother, LaMarr Anderson. Survivors include his wife, Lettie Anderson; daughters, Barbara Griggs of Idaho Falls and Janet (Steven) Wolf of Soda Springs; stepdaughters, Bonnie (Lance) Hendricks of Billings, Mont., Marilyn Madsen of Salt Lake City, Peggy (Shane) Bush; stepson, Rock (Kim) Madsen; half-brother, Newell Anderson, Layton, Utah; halfsisters, Phyllis Hardman of Centerville, Utah, Gloria Dennison and Miriam Overstreet both of Murray, Utah; 10 grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and 29 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at the Idaho Falls LDS Grandview Ward, 1450 Mountain View Lane, with Bishop William Morehead officiating. The family will visit with friends on Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave., and on Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park and Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and the Idaho Honor Guard. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.woodfuneralhome.com.
