1925
2014
If you felt a little less sunshine and warmth in the air, it's because a great lady has left us and returned to her family in heaven. Iris L. Smith died Saturday, March 22, 2014.
She was born Jan. 1, 1925, in Kilgore, Idaho, to G.R. Smith and Carrie R. Smith. She was employed for many years at INL and has lived in Idaho Falls since 1954.
Her survivors include one sister, Barbara (Ted) Hanson, and nieces and nephews who idolized her.
She was kind and gracious and always up for a good laugh. She made those who knew her feel loved and very special. She loved her family dearly, but her family went beyond the bonds of blood, and many lovingly called her "Aunt Iris." We hope that those who were privileged to know and love her will celebrate that relationship in their hearts.
As there will be no funeral, it would make her happy to know that you took some time and relished your memories of her. What a grand reunion you must be having, Aunt Iris. We miss you already.
