John Bishoff 91, passed away July 17, 2015, at his home in St. Anthony from natural causes.
He was born Jan. 18, 1924, in Moody, the son of Henry and Katherine Elizabeth Weimer Bishoff. He grew up in Sugar City on the family farm. He attended his schooling in Sugar City.
He joined the United States Navy 1944 and was honorably discharged after World War II.
He worked as a farmer his entire life in the Wilford and Mud Lake areas.
He married Ruby Ann Bishoff on April 9, 1946 in Rexburg. They made their home in Wilford and later in St. Anthony where they have since resided. Ruby passed away Dec. 13, 2011.
John and Ruby loved to spend their time on the Salmon River fishing. They spent many hours with their boys and family. He enjoyed bowling in St. Anthony and surrounding areas in the bowling leagues. He was also involved in many horseshoe tournaments in which he took state numerous times.
He is survived by his children, Brad (Taeko) Bishoff, of San Antonio, Texas, Kim (Lohnay) Bishoff, of Blythe, Calif., Tom (Jana) Bishoff, of St. Anthony; two sisters, Ruby Tolley and Emma Klingler; one brother, Harry Bishoff; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Ruby; five brothers, Henry Bishoff, Alex Bishoff, David Bishoff, George Bishoff, Ruben Bishoff; and three sisters Katie Raymond, Lydia Clark and Pauline Taylor.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday July 23, at the St. Anthony Third and Fourth LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Chris Tucker, officiating. Friends may come to Bidwell Funeral home from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and at the church one hour prior to the time of services. Burial will be in Wilford Cemetery where military rites will be preformed by St. Anthony V.F.W. and American Legion. Condolences may be sent to www.bidwellfuneralhome.com
