Larry Grant Kohler, 81, passed away on February 1st, 2025. Leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and service.
Born on August 27, 1943 to Grant Alfred and Lila Marie Kohler. Larry was the eldest of 5 children. He took on his responsibility as a big brother with deep affection and commitment.
After graduating from Firth High School and attending Salt Lake School of Electronics he moved to Seattle where he worked for Boeing. From Seattle he was transferred to South Dakota where he contributed to the Minuteman missile project.
On February 21, 1964 he began his greatest adventure when he married the love of his life, Anna Ruth Cook. Together for over 60 years they built a beautiful life, raising a large family of 11 children.
Larry had a strong work ethic and was a dedicated provider for his family. In 1967 Larry and his father opened Kohler Building Supply in Firth, Idaho. He later cofounded Steel Systems, where he found joy in building, crafting, and making something lasting.
After retirement he continued to build homes alongside his sons. Larry was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he enjoyed many callings in service to his community. His time serving a mission alongside Anna Ruth in Mesa, Arizona brought countless blessings and lifelong friendships.
Larry leaves behind his loving wife Anna Ruth, his children: Holli (Loren) Lund, April (Kevin) Christensen, Cody (Beth) Kohler, Tiffany Kohler, Kaydon (Vaneen) Kohler, Cheryse (David) Hooste, Jesslyn (Brad) Speakman, Kasia Kohler, Shantell (Mark) Mendez, and Jade (Kylee) Kohler; his siblings: Jay, Paula, Lynette, and Jana, and many treasured grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was welcomed home by his parents, Grant Alfred and Lila Marie Kohler, and his son, Sheradon Kohler.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the Sand Creek Ward Chapel, 744 N 600 E in Firth. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 till 7:30 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 West Oak Street, Shelley and Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. till 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Firth Cemetery.
