Marcus Johns Obituary

Marcus Allen Johns

Marcus Johns passed away unexpectedly October 1, 2025 at his home in Tarzana. Over his lifetime, he lived in Idaho Falls, ID, Chicago, IL, San Diego & various cities in the greater Los Angeles area. Possessed of real-estate savvy & a talented decorator, his homes were always gracious & welcoming. Most of his career revolved around packaging design & graphic arts, at both of which he excelled. He loved animals & art & surrounded himself with them.

In 2013, he married Louis Palley, the love of his life, who predeceased him by 18 months. Marcus & Louis traveled extensively, loved cars & doted on their dogs. Marcus enjoyed gardening & his roses were his bragging rights. He also was crazy about chocolate.

Marcus was the glue that held his family together. Family & heritage were important to him & when someone needed help, Marcus always reached out to them. Marcus looked at his world as a whimsical, magical place where sometimes wishes would come true.

He is survived by his sister Margaret Page, his two brothers Matthew & Martin Johns, his sisters-in-law Cathy & Linda Johns, 14 nieces & nephews, & his miniature poodle mix Rosie. A Celebration of Life will be announced later.

Marcus was larger than life. He was gregarious and always showed interest in other's lives. He had a life-time of experience's, and was always willing to share them or provide advice when needed. Boy...could he talk! Sometimes to the point it was hard to even get a word in. ha. But his knowledge and advice were always appreciated. His passing was sudden and unexpected. There are so many things I wish I could've told him..... I wish he knew how important he was to all his niece's and nephew's, and the impact he made on each of their lives.
