Mark Taylor Obituary

Mark Edward Taylor passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at his home in Aloha, Ore., surrounded by his family and under the care of hospice from a year-long battle with cancer.

Mark was born Dec. 19, 1966, in Mason City, Neb., to John and Roberta Taylor. They moved to Idaho Falls in 1969. He graduated from Bonneville High School and attended Idaho State University.

On July 24, 1993, he married his best friend and his lifelong love, Patricia Marie Schwarzenberger of Roberts, and then they moved to the Portland, Ore., area. For 10 years, Mark and Patricia worked and grew together to achieve their goals.

In 2003, they were blessed by the birth of twin girls, Katherine Anne and Ella Marie, and the loves in his life grew. As a loving and caring father, he was patient, kind, and his smile lit up the room for his family. His jokes and laughter over any situation made their home a place they wanted to be.

Mark's love of knowledge and his impeccable work ethic had him completing college courses to obtain his master's degree in human resources. Mark was employed at Graphic Products in Portland, Ore., at the time of his death. Co-workers and friends embraced his open honesty and quick wit, and his caring and understanding endeared him to everyone.

Mark is survived by his wife, Patricia, and daughters, Katherine and Ella, all of Aloha; parents, John and Roberta Taylor; brother, John D. (Anita) Taylor; sister, Barbara Taylor; and grandmother, J. Iola DeWald, all of Idaho Falls.

Mark was preceded in death by his sister, Teresa L. Taylor Thompson.

Celebration of life services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Idaho Falls.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hope Lutheran Church Youth or to any community service project.

Mark was loved by many and will be missed by all.

From the moment I met Mark, during an interview for a job at DFI, I knew he was a fun guy. For the few months that I worked with him, before he left to work for Graphic Products, he would make us all laugh on a daily basis and was a great boss. I will always remember how his face lit up talking about his girls. They definetly were his life. This world will definetly not be the same with out him and he will be truely missed!

Mark exhibited empathy, humility and grace, attributes that are easily spoken of but rarely consistently practiced.

It was a blessing to have had Mark as a neighbor.  He brought a smile to my face with his sense of humor any time we chatted.  And even during his battle with cancer, he showed up at my door with a hammer to let me know he was going to fix my fence. Thanks, Mark.  You will be missed and remembered with much fondness.

Mark was a nice young man while we knew him. He was always there to help us when we lived on Foster Drive in Idaho Falls. Birdie and John, you will miss him, but his infectious smile in his children will be there to help you along your way.
Sincerely,
Carl & Shirley Woodruff - Urbandale, Iowa
