Maxine Rosenkrance

1943 - 2025

Maxine Larsen Rosenkrance, 82, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on February 17,1943, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Samuel Ray Larsen and Jenny Lamar Thompson. She grew up and attended school in Shelley, ID.

She worked at the local café in Shelley, where she met Emmett Rosenkrance. They married in June of 1961, and had 3 children, Todd, Angie, and Pam. The family relocated to Arco, ID, where she owned the Golden West café. Some say she made the best fries and shakes in town. They later divorced, and in 1977 she moved and settled in Idaho Falls and took a job for Argonne National Lab. She started in the cafeteria and later worked her way up to a position as a graphic artist. She worked there for 28 years and was a key contributor to the great presentations done for ANL-W engineers and EBR-II. She developed great and long-lasting friendships with many of her co-workers who admired her.

Maxine loved spending time with her family and grandkids. She enjoyed reading her novels, walking the river, and being with her fur babies over the years. Her deepest passion was her yard, where her and longtime companion CG "Smitty" Smith, created a beautiful oasis with many flower beds, flourishing plants, ponds, and waterfalls. Many sunny days were spent there birdwatching and creating memories that her family will cherish forever. Maxine will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her children, Todd (Valiena) Rosenkrance, Angie (Jim) Posch, Pam (Shaun) Clary; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Larsen; sisters, Rayola Eiman, Joyce White, and Eileen Larsen.

No funeral services will be held. The family will have a celebration of life in the Spring.
