On Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, Ralph Hatch, 85, of Ellis, Idaho, went to that great God who gave him life.
He was born July 26, 1922, at Robin, Idaho, to Abram Miles and Lola Lindsay Hatch. He moved with his family to Moreland at a young age, where he was raised and
received his education, graduating from Moreland High School. On December 19, 1941, he married Ruth Parker in the Logan, Utah, LDS
Temple. Ralph served in the United States Army during World War II, serving in the Philippines and Occupied Japan. He was a member of
F Company, 35th Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. In 1965, they moved from Moreland to Leslie and
later moved to Pahsimeroi Valley in 1978.
He was a prominent rancher his entire life
and was
well known among
cattlemen throughout the U.S. He enjoyed horses, horse racing and working with livestock.
He loved to spend time with his family and he was well-loved by his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of Ellis; two sons, Parker Hatch of Ellis and Cody (Kelly) Hatch of Yuma, Ariz.; two daughters, Brenda Kauer of Blackfoot and Kathy (Richard) Snow of Tyhee; a brother, Bert Hatch of Salmon; a sister, Evelyn Belnap of Moreland; two sisters-in-law, Jean Hatch of St. George, Utah and Merle Hatch of Bruno; 15 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Jack and Russell Hatch.
Funeral services will be at
1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at the Moreland LDS Chapel. The family will visit with friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave. in Blackfoot, and for one hour Saturday before services at the church. Interment will be in the Moreland Cemetery.
