Albert Trudel Obituary

With deep sorrow our family announces the death of Albert David Trudel on September 4, 2025 in Montgomery, Alabama at age 64. He was born to Albert Felix and Dorothy Jones Trudel on September 19, 1960.

David grew up in the well-known brick house at 278 Ridge Street in Glens Falls. The home had a big back yard that became the hang out spot for friends to play lots of kickball and croquet. In winters our father, known as Al, would flood part of the lawn to make a popular neighborhood skating rink. At school David was a stand-out soccer player, swimmer, golfer, skier and he later became a local ski instructor. David attended Adirondack Community College and then worked at C. V. Peters, the fine men's clothing store on Glen Street in downtown Glens Falls which was owned by our father. David eventually ran the store after dad's retirement. He continued to work in the clothing industry and later owned and operated several successful businesses.

David was full of life, and his great joy was having fun with those he loved. He had a disarming sense of humor and was known for sharing his incredible cooking with friends and family. David was an avid Auburn football fan and a life-long Miami Dolphins supporter.

Five years ago, when David was living near Lake George, devotion to family inspired him to return to Montgomery where his daughter's family lived. Without a thought he would drop anything, at anytime, from anywhere, to be there for his children and grandchildren. Known as "Poppy" to his grandsons, David loved attending their sports games and he never missed special family moments.

David is survived by his children Larra Wallace (Matthew) and Tim Trudel (Hilary), his ex-wife Alice (Wright) King, three grandchildren, Luke, Cade and Gray, his siblings Lyn, Sam and Susan, his extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Steve.

David's sisters Susan and Lyn and his brother Sam invite friends to a Celebration of Life at the Queensbury Hotel in Glens Falls on November 1 between 11 and 2 p.m. Those attending the Celebration are encouraged to share photos of David or memorabilia. Messages for David's family may be sent to [email protected].

My love and condolences to Susan and family. I was totally shocked and saddened when I first learned of David's passing. I have fond memories as a child going over to his parents house in the winter and sliding down, which seemed at the time, and exciting hill behind the house. Also, David was a great classmate and friend! Unfortunately, we sometimes lose contact with those that we grew up with. David was one of my few friends that expressed great feedback on some of my Facebook postings, and that really made me feel good! Unfortunately, that was our only connection, but it made a difference in my life! I pray that his family and friends are conforted by our lord and helped to move on, knowing that David made a difference in mine and their lives. We love you, David, and have great memories of our past, knowing you! I'm sure, and hope we will meet again, in gods glory!
