Betty Organek

1937 - 2025

Betty Organek, 88, of Schroon Lake, NY, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025 in Haverhill, MA surrounded by family. Born on March 24, 1937, in Schroon Lake, Betty lived an active and fulfilling life centered on family, community, and hard work. In her early years, she was active in school sports and often traveled to New York City with her mother, Estelle, to enjoy plays and theater. After graduating from high school, she attended Mildred Elley Business School in Albany, NY.

Betty's career included work as a substitute teacher and bank teller before she settled into a long and valued position as a legal assistant at a law office in Schroon Lake. She was known for her professionalism, attention to detail, and dedication to helping local residents. Active in her community, Betty supported many local events, including the Adirondack Marathon and the Seagle Colony. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with friends and neighbors.

Betty was married to Victor Organek, orchestra teacher at Schroon Lake Central School, for 42 years. She is survived by her sons, Kirk Berry of Council Bluffs, IA, Steve Organek of Hampstead, NH, and Craig Organek of Diamond Bar, CA, and their spouses and partners, Teri Raes, Kim Organek, and Zoe Chang. She is also survived by grandchildren Jennifer Berry, Christopher Raes, Cory Berry, Meredith Organek, and Norah Organek; great-grandchildren Toni Phillips, Avia Navarro, Maddox Zephier, and Maverick Zephier; and great-great-grandchildren Julian Adora and Lillian Noah Phillips.
