Curtis Williams Obituary

Curtis J. Williams

February 7, 1940 - May 23, 2025

CORINTH – Curtis J. Williams, 85, of Corinth, passed away peacefully at Albany Medical Center on May 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on February 7, 1940, in Corinth, N.Y., Curtis was the son of the late John and Celia (Barrass) Williams.

"Curt" graduated from Corinth Central School in 1958 and served in the USAF as an AGE mechanic for four years. This is where he met and fell in love with Diane (Wilson), who predeceased him after 50 years of marriage in 2012.

Curt was employed by the Carpenters Local Union 1042/229 as a carpenter/millwright. After he retired from the Union, he worked as a handyman at the Half Mile Ranch Camping Resort and the Lamplight Inn Bed & Breakfast, both located in Lake Luzerne, N.Y.

He was a member of the Corinth Vol. Fire Department, coached and volunteered in the Corinth Youth Hockey program, and loved following his daughters' many sports activities.

Curt loved to take his family on camping adventures. They frequented Whispering Pines in Greenfield Center, N.Y. as well as Half Mile Ranch.

Curt had a love for animals and was known for bringing many stray cats and dogs home. This passion has been carried on by his five daughters.

Curt was an avid golfer and bowler. He competed in many tournaments. He truly loved watching various sports on television with his buddy, Marvin, (his furry companion). Curt also enjoyed being outdoors doing yardwork and managed it well.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his siblings, Charlotte (Paul) Hrdlicka and Wilbur (Minnie) Williams; and his niece, Patricia (Hrdlicka) Shippee.

Survivors include his five daughters, Chris Aldous (Tracy) of Corinth, Claire (Joe) Shorkey of Moreau, Carol LeClair (Kevin McMurtry) of Queensbury, Cathy Bartle of Mansfield, Texas, and Kelly Williams of Clermont, Fla. Curt is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Stephanie Eddy of Hudson Falls, Aidan LeClair (Kristin Langdon) of Fort Edward, and Shea LeClair of Gansevoort. He is further survived by his sister, Sharon Gonyea of Queensbury, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Curt's life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 31, 2025 at the Densmore Funeral Home, Inc., 7 Sherman Ave., Corinth with Father Simon Udemgba, officiating. Burial with full military honors will then be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Corinth.

Friends may call from Noon until 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 31st, at the funeral home, prior to the service.

The family wishes to thank Dr. George Siniapkin for many years of care, the vascular ICU Team at Albany Medical Center, and his neighbors, Rob and Lori for their unending support.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations in Curt's memory go to the Estherville Animal Shelter, 100 Russell Road, Greenfield Center, NY 12833.
