David Price Obituary

David Warren Price

January 19, 1953 - December 27, 2024

David W. Price, 71, a resident of West Seneca, N.Y., passed away peacefully on December 27th, 2024.

Dave was the son of the late Howard MacConchie Price and Sarah (Martin) Price. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marcie Price of West Seneca, N.Y.; brothers, Howard and Harry; and sister, Martha. His children are Tanya Telford (Norm) and David Shay (Mary) Price, and stepchildren Christie Bonnet (Mark Bigley), Paul Bonnet (Kristen), and Torie Bonnet (Rob Knerr).

Dave's grandchildren include Austin, Colton, Jordan, Jake, Ciara, Eric, Ryan, Madison, Zachary, Skylar, AdaGrace, Vera Rose, Ruby, Warren, and Scarlett, his great-grandchildren, Avery, Adalyn, and Noah, and several special nieces and nephews.

Dave was born on January 19, 1953, at West Point military hospital and graduated from Argyle High School in 1971. He was a former Argyle and Cambridge, N.Y. resident, held numerous jobs driving trucks, and served as a Washington County Sheriff, Whitehall, and Cambridge Police Officer. He will be remembered as a funny, outgoing, witty, and charismatic storyteller who loved his family and spent his free time attending his grandchildren's events. He loved going on motorcycle rides with friends and family, stopping at every Stewart's along the way for a coffee. Dave had a knack for knowing the location of every Stewart's shop ever built! He was also a walking GPS and could always be called for directions anywhere in the country. Dave's favorite pastime was drinking coffee on his patio with his mini dachshund side-kicks, Tuck and Cece, harassing the squirrels and rabbits.

Family and Friends are invited to a celebration of life to remember Dave on his birthday, Sunday, January 19th, at the American Legion in Cambridge, N.Y., from 1 to 5 p.m. The address is 2106 State Route 22, Cambridge, NY.

I am heartbroken at the loss of David, and so sad that I was unable to attend his celebration of life. What a wonderful human being! From now on, whenever I go to visit my sister, I am going to deeply miss the time I would usually spend with him, out back on the patio enjoying the birds and wind chimes, sitting in the living room discussing the fate of the world, eating salad with dinner and talking about what a good cook my sister is, and even the comfortable silence when my mind would wander off. I already miss him, and the absence of his wit and his larger-than-life personality will be felt from now on. My heart and my prayers are with you all.

I´d like to express my condolences to Dave´s family. I met Dave when he was a Cambridge Police Officer, and I was a Schuylerville Officer. We attended the Basic School for Police, commuting together to Troy each day, after having coffee at Stewarts! We quickly became friends, and there wasn´t a day he didn´t make me laugh. He was also a groom in our wedding. Careers took us in different directions, and I am sad that we were not in touch. Truly sorry for your loss.

Dave was a frequent customer at Salem Stewarts when my mom worked there. He and my mom pranked me one night after a school dance. I will never forget his laughter that night. Dave always had a smile, and a way to make you laugh. Rest easy Dave and say hello to my mom for me.

Dave came into our lives a short 3 or so years ago, leaving us with a lifetime of memories. Dave, you will always be in our hearts.

I am so sorry for your loss. My experience with Dave was through prosecuting a case he was involved in with the Cambridge PD. He was a very good policeman and handled a dangerous situation very well, bringing it to a conclusion to the US Attorney office where I worked at the time. My late husband, Dan Walsh, always caught up with Dave at various sporting events. His easy chuckle will be missed by many.
