Delvin Wheeler Obituary
POTTERSVILLE - Delvin D. Wheeler 66 died unexpectedly at his home Monday, February 24, 2025.
Born in Glens Falls, N.Y. he was the son of the late Walker and Shirley Marie (Dalaba) Wheeler, Jr.
Delvin graduated from North Warren Central School. He was a auto mechanic with his father for many years.
He was a self employed driver for The Free Press and NYVT Media. He was a member of the Pottersville Vol. Fire Department from 1991 till his passing. He served as a Assistant Chief and also a Chief Pumper man. He was always helping his neighbors and people in the community.
He is survived by three brothers, Dennis Wheeler of Pottersville, Darren Wheeler and Duane Wheeler both of Schroon Lake; two sisters, Penny Wheeler and Patty Wheeler both of Pottersville; three nieces, Taylor Dawley, Brooke Bolton, Paige Wheeler; one nephew, Zachary Wheeler; three grand nieces and nephews, Elliott Dawley, Beckham Bolton, Lainey Bolton.
Graveside services will be in the spring at Pottersville Cemetery
Memorials may be made to the Pottersville Volunteer Fire Department.
Arrangements are entrusted to Barton-McDermott Funeral Home, Inc., 9 Pine St., Chestertown, NY 12817.

Dear Wheeler family,
I am so saddened to hear of Delvin´s passing. He was much more than our "snowplow" guy
I always enjoyed talking with him either at our house on Stone Bridge Rd or at the Black Bear or at Stewart´s.
He was easy to talk to and was one of the kindest people I´ve ever met. He will be greatly missed by his community. The parades just won´t be the same, not seeing him and waving to him as he drives the fire truck! . I´ll be praying for him and your family

I met delvin years ago when he ran his garage Delvins Service in North Creek. He was a great mechanic and an all around great person. Rest in peace Delvin. Tell Super I said hello.

Delvin was the first First Responder I had met while riding with North Warren EMS, back in 1997. He was a dedicated member of the Pottersville F.D. and a kind and caring individual. I will always remember Delvin for his Kindness, caring, laughter, joking around, but mostly for his big heart. He loved and cared for the people of his community and surrounding communities always helping those in need. May you rest in eternal peace Delvin. I will truly miss you my friend.
