Oct. 24, 1934 - Dec. 18, 2020
Jane Ann (Spring) Osborne passed away on December 18, 2020 following a brief illness at Glens Falls Hospital. Born October 24, 1934 in Indian Lake to Gilbert "Gibby" Spring and Ruth (Hunt) Spring.
Jane attended elementary school in Blue Mountain Lake and then continued her education in Indian Lake. Post-graduation, Jane attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and later Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She worked for the Hamilton County Department of Social Services until her retirement.
Jane was an avid reader who adored her lapdogs and explored her great interests in art, antiques, gourmet cooking, fishing and all things Adirondack. To those who knew Jane, she had a sharp wit and a wicked sense of humor. Jane was full of fun, life and laughter. Her greatest joy was interacting with people sharing funny stories and warmth from her kind, generous heart. Those who knew her have treasured tales to remember her by.
She was predeceased by her husband, William "Bill" Osborne and a brother, Richard "Dick" Spring. She leaves behind a brother, John Spring; and a sister Judy Durkin. She will be sorely missed by two daughters: Debra Starling of Indian Lake, Marcia Starling of Tavernier, FL; and a son, John (Wendy) Starling of Blue Mountain Lake; as well as a cherished granddaughter, Jessica Sears of Sanford, FL; cousins, nieces and nephews.
A summer burial and celebration of Jane's life will be private and at the convenience of the family.
