Jody Blanchard Obituary
Jody loved his family, and he was especially proud of his daughters' pursuing their degrees at St. Rose and Hartwick colleges.
He enjoyed Sunday dinners with his extended family,
often lasting well into the evening around a roaring bon-fire.
He also loved working on his computers, going to the movies and anything Sci-Fi.
Born July 20, 1959, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Harold Blanchard of South Glens Falls and Myrna Davis of Greenwich.
Jody was employed as a correction officer at Mount McGregor Correctional Facility in Wilton.
He was predeceased by a brother, Harold "Duff" Blanchard.
Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife of 24 years, Cynthia Davis Blanchard, of Fort Miller; two daughters, Amy and Rachel Blanchard of Fort Miller; three brothers, Herbert Blanchard of Orlando, Fla., Dale Blanchard of North Carolina, and Randy Blanchard of Greenwich; his "favorite" sister, Sharon Blanchard, of Schuylerville; a special nephew, Brett Blanchard of Greenwich; a "weekend daughter," Brienda Davis; and several other nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Fort Miller Reformed Church, with the Rev. Charles Bailey officiating.
Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Fort Miller.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Fort Miller Reformed Church.

Jody was a great guy. I used to work with him at Mt. McGregor. I was a ASAT Counselor on D-2 and Jody was my CO. We talked many evenings about computers. I saw him just a couple of weeks ago at the video store. He was a great friend and will be missed.

My deepest sympathy to the entire family. I have fond memories of when we all lived in Gansevoort.
Loved sitting on the school steps or the church steps listening to some great guitar music.
