January 23, 1949 - December 28, 2025

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Linda E. Higgins (Clough), 76 of Queensbury, N.Y. Linda died Sunday, December 28, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones.

Linda was born in Gloucester, Mass. on January 23, 1949 to Grace (Steer) Clough and Arthur Clough. Linda grew up in Lanesville, a small neighborhood of Gloucester on beautiful Cape Ann. She graduated from Gloucester High School in 1967. She attended Vermont College and graduated in 1969. She later attended Maria College where she received an associate's degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

Linda moved to Queensbury in 1973 after living abroad in Germany. Here she raised her two children and created a strong community of friends who adored her. She worked at WSWHE BOCES as a PTA until her retirement. After retiring, she spent countless hours volunteering her time at High Peaks Hospice and Open Door Mission. She loved baking nisu, knitting and crocheting. She also loved hiking and was an avid walker. Her favorite pastime was swimming in the ocean, especially Plum Cove.

Linda was predeceased by her parents, Grace (Steer) Clough and Arthur Clough. She was also predeceased by her brother, Donald Clough and her son-in-law, Timothy Halnon.

She is survived by her daughters, Faith Halnon of Fair Haven, Vt. and April Higgins of Glens Falls, N.Y. She is survived by her granddaughter, Shannon Brown and her husband Kevin of Orwell, Vt., and grandson, Declan Higgins of Glens Falls, N.Y., and her two great-grandchildren, Lawson and Lindy Brown. She is survived by her brothers, Dana Clough and Stephen Clough and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her former husband, Michael Higgins, and her companion, Garry Poland.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Singleton Sullivan Potter Funeral Home at 407 Bay Road, Queensbury N.Y. A graveside memorial will take place at a future summer date in Gloucester, Mass.

Donations can be made to the MS Society at www.nationalmssociety.org in Linda's name. Thank you to Community Hospice for your compassion and care for our Mother over the last few months.
