Marliesa Root-Blair Obituary

Marliesa M. Root-Blair, lovingly known as "Liesa," passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, in Paradise, California, at the age of 73. Born on March 17, 1952, she was just days shy of her 74th birthday.

Liesa graduated from South Glens Falls High School. Thereafter, she chose a career in banking and business. Dedication and loyalty were hallmarks of her professional life, earning her the respect of colleagues and clients alike.

Liesa found joy in gardening, nature with her Labador, Nikki by her side, music, reading, and design. She will remembered as fun-loving and deeply loyal.

Liesa is survived by her husband Lloyd Foote; sister Janice R. Sweet; Jan's children J. Sweet, Christopher Sweet, and Nathan Sweet; her sister-in-law Carol Seigel; and cousins Frank Orsini, James Orsini, Neal Orsini, and Laurie Orsini, her cherished friends, Norma Cramer-Barnaby, Nancy Wrye-Lawrence and Heidi Elick

She was predeceased by her parents, Leona V. Stanton Root and Stephen A. Root, as well as her brother Gregory S. Root. In honor of Liesa's memory, donations may be made to Butte County Home Hospice, PASH.org, or to a charity of one's choice. May Liesa's memory be a comfort and for a blessing for all.

I was deeply grateful that I was able to speak to Liesa shortly before she passed away. We had been close friends in grade school and through high school school. She, Norma and I had only been able to stay in touch a few times over the years, as our lives went in different directions.
But the bonds of those close friendships in the formative years of your life are truly unique and very deep. My heart goes out to her husband and her sister and her nephews her sister-in-law and her her friends in California.
Her sister, Janice, Norma, and I will endeavor to stay in touch and share memories forever, friends
