HUDSON FALLS – Mary Alice Murphy, 82, of Hudson Falls, passed away at Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga on Sunday, November 30, 2025.

Born on January 21, 1943 in Glens Falls, she was the beloved daughter of the late Richard Joseph and Helen Francis (Senecal) Murphy.

Mary Alice graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Glens Falls and St. Peter's Hospital School of Nursing in Albany, where she obtained her RN diploma. She held BS and MS degrees from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Mass. and an MS degree in Public Administration from Russell Sage College in Troy. Mary Alice worked in various community health nursing positions at the State and County levels. She retired from Washington County DSS, where she was a manager in the Medicaid Program.

As a lifetime member of St. Mary's/St. Paul's Church, Mary Alice served as lector, Eucharistic minister, on the Pastoral Council, in the Rosary Altar Society and a Bereavement Ministry member.

She was appreciative of her parents and ancestors for their steadfastness in preserving and fostering their religious faith throughout the decades. The Jesuits and Sisters of St. Joseph also had a significant role in her life. Mary Alice expressed gratitude to all who offered her care and support throughout her life. She was especially fond of her North Country relatives.

There will be no calling hours.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at St. Mary's/St. Paul's Church on the circle in Hudson Falls.

Burial will take place in the spring at St. Mary's Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.
