Patrick M. Whalen
Jan. 5, 1950 - Nov. 26, 2023
QUEENSBURY – Patrick M. Whalen, 73, of Queensbury, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born in Glens Falls, NY on January 5, 1950, son of the late Lawrence "Pete" and Dorothy Leonbruno Whalen (Caverly).
After residing in Whitehall, NY as a young child, Pat's family moved to Glens Falls, NY. Pat attended St. Mary's Academy for most of his school years and was a 1968 graduate of Glens Falls High School.
After graduating, he worked various jobs before quickly moving his career to his lifelong love of building. For nearly 50 years, he was proud to be "Pat Whalen Building Contractor", known for his meticulous work. Pat was well known in the community and sought out by many to enhance the beauty of their homes.
Pat enjoyed working with his vast collection of tools, maintaining an impeccable yard and often spoke about how peaceful it was to sit by his evening fires.
Pat loved spending time with his daughters and grandchildren which included many weekends spent by the pool, taking family vacations to the coast and all the little things in between. He was thankful for the many close friendships he made throughout his life and enjoyed connecting with them for a bite to eat, holiday get togethers or just to sit and chat. He also loved connecting with his extended family and could often be found sharing stories with them for hours.
In addition to his parents and stepfather, Lawrence Caverly, Pat was predeceased by his brother, Donald Whalen, nephew, Shawn Whalen and his lifelong best friend, Steve Pinchook. We take comfort in the fact that they are all together again.
Survivors include his daughters: Trish Gibson and Cherie (Rob) White; his grandchildren: Jessica White, Dylan White and Ryan Dastalto; his brother, Terry (Faylene) Whalen; nieces: Meredith and Stefanie Whalen; niece, Heather Whalen; uncle, Peter Leonbruno; and numerous cousins.
Family and Friends are invited to visit from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Regan Denny Stafford Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023, at St. Mary's Church, Warren Street, Glens Falls. Burial will follow at Pine View Cemetery, Queensbury.

Trish & Cherie,
I was deeply saddened to hear of your Father's passing.
Your Father used to stop by my house on Pinewood Rd and we would visit a couple hours at a time or we would have lunch together around 1pm at Poopies and visit till they closed. I am going to miss your Father a lot.
