HUDSON FALLS, NY - Peter John Savasta, 81, of Olive Street in Hudson Falls, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at his home with his loving wife and son by his side.

Born on November 24, 1943, he was the son of Peter John Savasta and Margaret (Belrose) Savasta.

He joined the Army at the age of 18 and was an MP and Generals Guard on the DMZ and I Core Uijeongbu City in South Korea. While serving in South Korea he met the love of his life Young-Hui Chon. She was a barber at that time and he came in every week for a tune up! That's how he got her attention and the rest was history!

They were married 62 years, and he worked alongside his dad Peter J. Savasta who owned and operated Savasta Radio in Hudson Falls. It was the first T.V. Store in upstate New York. Many remember both the Peter's making home deliveries and repair work. The store was opened in 1943. Peter started with his dad in 1964. It was well known in the Washington County area, sadly closing in 1999.

Peter was a member of the Knights of Colombus Through St. Mary's Church and a member of the Degree Team.

Peter and his family enjoyed going to their camp on Lincoln Pond and trips to Saranac Lake. Also, Peter and young-Hui enjoyed many cruises along with family members.

Peter was deceased by his son, Peter the third, who passed away sadly in 1982, also his sister Beverly Frances in 2002.

His survivors are his wife, Young-Hui; her son, Frank Savasta and his wife, Kelly and his daughter, Lisa Savage; his grandchildren: Frankie, Asia and her husband Isnel, Nicholas Winter and his wife, Andrea, Peter, Logan and Jett Savage, Storm Eavey; his great-grandchildren: Kiersten, Gavin Winter and Brynlie Heym Savasta; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling Hours will be on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., at the Carleton Funeral Home, 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

His Funeral Mass will be Celebrated 11:00 a.m., on Saturday at St. Mary's/St. Paul's Church on the Park in Hudson Falls.

The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.
