Richard Kelley Obituary

Richard P. Kelley

March 21, 1950 - March 27, 2024

ARGYLE - Richard P. Kelley, 74, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Glens Falls Hospital with his family by his side.

Born March 21, 1950, in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Patricia Kelley.

Richard graduated from Excelsior College where he earned a Bachelor's degree. He was employed by both Burnham Catheter and Precision Extrusion as a manager and vice president.

In 2009, Richard married Dana Little at their home in Argyle.

Richard was a very artistic man, excelling in poetry, writing, and music. He played several instruments including drums, piano, and guitar. He enjoyed rock music and played in a band in high school. His son will always remember attending many rock concerts with Richard even as a small child. Richard had an amazing sense of humor and was witty and charming. He was generous and would help anyone in need. He enjoyed nature, especially skiing, camping and hiking in the Adirondacks. Richard and Dana enjoyed visiting Drakes Island in Maine where he could spend time at the ocean with his family. They also enjoyed traveling to Disney and cruising. Most of all, Richard will be remembered as the steadfast rock of the family who showed strength and compassion. He loved nothing more than bringing everyone in the family together. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Richard is predeceased by his brothers: Christopher and David Kelley; as well as his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Dennis Elms.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Dana Kelley; his sons: Jordan Kelley, Demian Digges, Jason Digges, Ian Digges (Shea), Brandon Digges (Nadia), Josiah Digges (Katrina), and Will Digges (Alexa); his grandchildren: Zoey, Violet, and Greta; his sister, Patricia Iacobelli; several nieces and nephews, as well as his favorite Maine Coon cat, Zoey.

Friends may call from 1:00-3:00p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 123 Main Street, Argyle, NY 12809. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 3pm at the funeral home following the calling hours.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
