Richard Reisman Obituary

Dr. Richard J. Reisman

February 17, 2025 - January 21, 1946

It is with great sadness that the family of Dr. Richard J. Reisman announces his passing on February 17, 2025, at the age of 79. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and esteemed professional, Dr. Reisman's legacy spans his many contributions to the dental profession and his unwavering devotion to family and community.

Born in Boston, Mass., on January 21, 1946, Dr. Reisman was the son of Phillip and Lillian Reisman. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst before receiving his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He completed his residency at Mt. Sinai in New York City, where he began a long and distinguished career as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon.

Dr. Reisman's passion for his work was evident through his extensive career. He was a member of the New York State Dental Society and served on its Ethics Committee. A respected professor at St. Clare's Hospital, he also served as a dentist for the Adirondack Red Wings. His contributions to the field extended beyond his clinical work; he was a long-standing member of Mensa and a former board member of Glens Falls National Bank.

In addition to his professional life, Dr. Reisman was an active member of his community. He enjoyed many years as a member of the Glens Falls Country Club, where he served on and chaired several boards. An avid golfer and traveler, Dr. Reisman found joy in exploring new places and spending time with loved ones.

Dr. Reisman is survived by his children, Michael Reisman and Alyssa Reisman Nason (husband Michael Nason) and his beloved grandchildren, Knox and Daisy Nason. He was predeceased by his lovely wife of 52 years, Jane Reisman, his brother Kenneth Reisman and his parents, Phillip and Lillian Reisman.

A funeral service will be held at Congregation Shaara Tfille, 84 Weibel Ave., Saratoga Springs, N.Y. 12866, on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 1 p.m., followed by burial in Maplewood Cemetery.

What a kind man and a wonderful dentist! He pulled two teeth several years ago and made what could“ve been a very scary and uncomfortable process a breeze with his easy-going manner and sense of humor. A true gem. My condolences to his family and friends.

Doc Reisman was a longtime friend and a "top shelf" oral surgeon but most of all he was a great person! Rest in peace Doc and thank you for all you did for me and my family.
