The son of Honora ("Gingo") and Charles ("Gussie") Murphy, Vincent joins his parents, brother, John, brother, Paul and sister-in-law, Pat, brother, Leo and sister-in-law, Patty Murphy, in heaven.

Vincent was born and raised in Whitehall, NY before enlisting in the US Navy to serve his country during the Korean War. Upon discharge he entered Castleton State Teachers College, where he met his first wife Sandra Tucker, mother of his four children: Jill, Kevin, Brian and Mathew. Vincent taught US History at Corinth Central School until his retirement in 1988. "Mr. Murphy" was a favorite of all the students at Corinth High.

In his retirement Vincent kept busy with courier jobs, golf and outings to the track with close friend Nick Mattino.

He is survived by his second wife, Linda Osterhaudt; her four children; and Jill's husband, Steve Baboulis; Brian's wife, Shelley Murphy; longtime companion, Lynn LaSalle; grandchildren: Sean Murphy, Laura Baboulis, Caitlyn Murphy, Mathew Baboulis and his wife, Elizabeth, Shaelyn Murphy, Deirdre Murphy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., on Frid, January 13, 2023 at St. Clement's Church, , 231 Lake Avenue, Saratoga Springs, NY.

Burial with military honors will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY.

Oh No! One my absolute favorite teachers of all time. I learned so much from him that I purposely repeated several of his classes even though I did well the first time and would get no credit (Looking at you, Current events 1982- 1985). I ran into him years later and he remembered every tiny detail of our years together. I still quote him often and I am so grateful for his impact on my life all these years later. They broke the mold when they made Father Murphy, perfectly suited for a career as a H.S. history teacher- so smart, unflappable and permanently bemused at the antics around him.

So sorry for your loss. Mr Murphy was a wonderful neighbor as well as a teacher. He made his best effort to make history worth studying and was an amazing teacher. I had the privilege of running into him as an adult and it was very nice to get to visit with him after all the years had past since high school. I will truly miss him. He was one of the good guys.

I first met Murph at a teacher's picnic in the Pagenstecher park in 1960. We both hit it off and our friendship grew throughout these many years. Murph was Navy I was Marine, Murph was of Irish descent, I of Italian descent. Both of us taught history at CCS. We both were admirers of John Kennedy and mourned his tragic death. He leaned democrat, I leaned republican. And yet we were great friends Our talks were always friendly and respectful.
We golfed together, bet the horses, went to lunch and dinner and had a good time in each others company.
I wish to offer my sincerest condolences to Murph's family.
Murph was one of the good guys! Rest in Peace my good and dear friend, you will be missed!

We never had a bad word between us, we were admirers of John F Kennedy and while he drifted toward the Democratic party, and I toward the Republic Party our discussions were always with humor and respect. Since we were both history teachers at CCS, we had many discussions concerning our country.
