QUEENSBURY, NY - Werner Wohlfahrt, 75, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Born on April 6, 1950, in Mannheim, Germany, he was the son of the late John and Emma (Roller) Wohlfahrt.
In 1970, he graduated from Queensbury High School and attended BOCES trade school for welding.
On June 24, 1978, Werner married to the love of his life, Nancy Heath, at Saint Mary's Church in Glens Falls. The two spent 47 bountiful years together, enriching each other's lives and raising three daughters.
His jobs rang true to his skills in the trades. He started off as a journeyman welder at Sandy Hill Iron and Brass Works in Hudson Falls. From here he moved onto the same position at Zak Inc in Green Island.
Werner was an avid outdoorsman. Hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, and all in between were common activities for him. He especially enjoyed going out hunting with his dog Rusty. He was known to take trips out to the Adirondacks to share his hobbies with dear friends. Many recall Werner's dry yet witty humor and kind soul. All the way through, he was a kind, decent, and honest man. Leatherwork was also a hobby of his, though he would always gift these crafts to friends and family.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Emma Wohlfahrt.
Left to honor his memory include his wife, Nancy Wohlfahrt; daughters, Kristy (Brandy) Goodson, Leslie (Web) Balch, and Emily Wohlfahrt; grandchildren, Zoe, Benaiah, and Naomi Goodson; friends for life Larry and Claudia Wood; and his beloved dog, Jackie.
Memorial Services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at M. B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main St, South Glens Falls.
The Rite of Committal will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery later in the spring.
