Helen Bethell Obituary
She was born July 4, 1927, to Olivier Collas and Marie Pairault Collas in Cisse, France. She worked in France at the Departmental Archives in Grenoble and in La Rochelle, France. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine, taught French in the Sacramento School District and sold real estate with Century 21. She enjoyed gardening, painting and reading.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58 years, Arthur Benjamin Bethell; one brother, Pierre Collas and his wife.
She leaves one brother, Gerrard Collas and his family from Joue-les-Tours, France, several nieces, nephews and grand-nephews and nieces, relatives and friends in her native France and in the USA.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday Aug. 17, at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark., with Don Cherry officiating. Helen requested that there be no viewing or visitation.
Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home, Poteau.
