MEGAN ELIZABETH SERGI

Megan Elizabeth Sergi, 47, of Sisters, Oregon, died in her home on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1977 to Terrence and Jane Sergi. Megan grew up in Morgantown, West Virginia, and moved with her family to Coudersport, Pennsylvania during her junior year of high school. She graduated from Coudersport High School in 1996 before attending Fairmont State University, where she graduated summa cum laude in 2008 with a degree in Social Studies Education. She received her master's in social work (MSW) from Portland State University in 2013. Since that time, she has spent her life supporting those in need, spanning from homeless youth to adults with chronic mental illness.
Megan was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Florence Sergi; her maternal grandparents, Robert and Naomi Keim; her beloved father, Terrence Sergi; and her cherished cousin, Victor Surma.
She is survived by her mother, Jane Sergi Lukacs (Frank); her brother, Todd Sergi; her sister, Carrie Showalter (Matthew); her niece, Carlie Renton, and nephews, Jack Renton, Marshall Sergi, Hayden Sergi, and Christian Sergi, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Megan was loved by anyone and everyone who was lucky enough to meet her, leaving lasting memories with her authenticity, kindness, and gentle nature. She loved her dog, Emma and late dogs, Bella and Katahdin along with rafting, the outdoors, all plants and animals, her family, and helping anyone in need. Megan took pride in her career as a social worker and dedicated her life to making everyone she met feel loved, appreciated, and special. Her family and friends remember her as one of the gentlest souls; her empathy and selflessness as contagious as it was inspiring. ?
Megan put everyone's needs above her own. She had a huge heart and knew no stranger. With her wit, wisdom, and endless love, she will be greatly missed. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday October 19 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.at 3119 University Avenue, Morgantown, WV (Black Bear Burritos).
