BARBARA H. KUMMERER, 67, OF NEWFOUNDLAND Barbara H. (Hoskins) Kummerer, 67, of Newfoundland, PA and formerly of Pottstown, widow of Dr. William David Kummerer, went to be with the Lord on Thursday in Ocean View, NJ. Born in West Chester, PA, she was a daughter of the late Robert W. Hoskins and the late Dorothy F. (Shingle) Hoskins. Mrs. Kummerer was a 1969 graduate of Bloomsburg State University. She was employed as a teacher at Hillside Pre-School, Head Start at Bright Hope, and the Pottstown High School. She was also employed as a sales person with Ray Price Ford, Mt. Pocono, and Sugg Chevrolet, Boyertown. Mrs. Kummerer attended Fairview Village Church, Eagleville. She loved knitting, gardening and watching western movies. She had a special love of the outdoors, nature, and the beach, and was also an artist. Surviving are two sons, Justin M. Kummerer and his wife Jennifer, Boston, MA; Jason D. Kummerer, Newfoundland; two daughters, Valerie (Kummerer) wife of David Glassey, Annville; Rebecca C. wife of Scott L. Redding, Collegeville; half-sisters, Joan Trego and Frances Poluch. Four grandchildren, Christian Glassey; Jason Kummerer Jr.; Gavin Redding and Audrey Redding. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday July 2, 2014 from the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, 359 King St. Pottstown. Officiating will be Reverend Ronald E.F. Hoskins. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Pottstown. There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
