Claudia Hatzel Obituary

Claudia M. Hatzel, 77, of Pittston, PA, passed away January 26, 2022, at Wesley Village after a battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born in Hereford, PA on June 25, 1944 to the late Stanford and Rita (Bauer) Leh. Claudia was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic H.S. Following high school she went on to attend Pierce Business School of Philadelphia. With her degree in hand she took a job with Bally Case and Cooler as an executive secretary. After 26 years, they went out of business and she employed until retirement by Social Security Administration as a payroll clerk. Claudia was a devout catholic and a proud member of St. Maria Goretti Church. Surviving is husband Herb Hatzel of Pittston; who she shared 54 years of marriage with. Also surviving are Claudia’s aunts, Edith, Pearl, and Mary, lifelong friend Chris Howerter, along with numerous cousins. Funeral services were entrusted to Graziano Funeral Home Inc., Pittston Twp., PA. A Mass of Christian Burial followed by interment will be held on Saturday, February 5 at 11am at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 610 Pine St., Bally, PA. Anyone desiring may make donations in Claudia’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 96011, Washington DC, 20090-6011 or to Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 610 Pine St. Bally, PA 19503.
