Donald James "Dee Jay" Hallman

Donald James "Dee Jay" Hallman, 93, of Pottstown, husband of the late Ellen M. (Tyson) Hallman, passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at Sanatoga Center.
Born in Neiffer, Pa., he was the son of the late John Walter and Mae (Black) Hallman.
Donald was a member of Berean Bible Church in Pottstown, and served for many years on the board of directors at the Pottstown Youth Centre. He was a bookkeeper at Cabot Industries, retiring in 1986.
A lifelong woodworker, artist, and craftsman, he freely handed out his hand-painted pins and crafts to whomever he met, often at church or local diners. Donald enjoyed aviation history. He was also a fan of Indy and NASCAR racing. Along with his wife, he enjoyed hosting many bus trips for friends and family.
Surviving is one daughter Beverly Schussler wife of Gerald of Hatfield; two sons Kenneth J. Hallman husband of Dale (Matthews) of Boyertown, and Thomas E. Hallman husband of Jane (Boyle) of Macungie; nine grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Along with his wife and parents, Donald was predeceased by his daughter Judith Lenko, five brothers, and two sisters.
A memorial service will be celebrated Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Berean Bible Church, 2675 E. High St., Pottstown, PA 19464, with Pastor Jace Erb officiating. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
