Glen Philips

1950 - 2017

Glen Alan Philips, 67, of Glenmoore, went home to be with his Lord on November 21, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family following a brief battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Sue (DePierro) Philips with whom he celebrated 44 years of marriage on August 11, 2017. Glen is also survived by his five children: Mark (Tracey) Philips, Andy (Andrea) Philips, Carrie (Nathan) Duvall, Beth (James) Taylor, and Jesse Philips. He enjoyed spending time with his 16 grandchildren: Sara, Jonathan, Matthew, Rebecca, Sam, Eli, Josiah, Grant, Anna, Landon, Maddy, Jack, Emily, Gavin, Ellie, and Ethan. Glen is also survived by his brother John L. (Pat) Philips and predeceased by half-sister Carol Elston. Born to the late H. Lesley Philips and Ada Painter Philips in 1950, Glen worked to maintain the family farm. In 1968, Glen graduated from Owen J. Roberts High School as the President of the Future Farmers of America and recipient of two FFA Project Awards. Following high school, Glen began his lifelong passion as an electrician working with his brother. By 1971, John and Glen established Philips Brothers Electrical Contractors. For 46 years, Glen built relationships with his employees creating an extended family. Glen took pleasure in traveling to NHRA drag races and Philadelphia Eagles games around the country. The 2005 Eagles Super Bowl appearance brings special memories to all. In addition to family vacations, Glen and Sue also enjoyed traveling together and celebrated their 40th anniversary in Europe. A service celebrating Glen’s life will be Tuesday November 28, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday at Twin Valley Bible Chapel, 105 Shirktown Road, Narvon, PA with Dr. Bill Muller officiating. Burial will follow at the East Nantmeal Christian Fellowship Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by Glen’s life celebration service.
