Herman Zettle Obituary

Herman Zettle, Jr., 84, formerly of Kutztown, died Oct. 27, 2012 in Manor Care, Laureldale.
He was the widower of Joanne L. (Kern) Zettle, who died Jan. 29, 2001.
Born in Coplay, Lehigh County, he was a son of the late Herman, Sr., and Sue (Leshko) Zettle.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Herman was employed by the Pennsylvania State Liquor Control Board as a general manager for 26 years, managing several State Liquor Stores, including the former Topton store, retiring in 1991.
Mr. Zettle was a member of the Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion and its Honor Guard, Topton. He also was a member and past president of both the Topton Lions Club, and Topton Rotary Club from 1978 to 1985.
He is survived by a son, Steven M., husband of Marcia A. (Piper) Zettle, Fleetwood.
Graveside services and interment, with military honors provided by Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion, Topton, will be held Saturday, Nov. 3, at 10:30 a.m. in Zion Maxatawny Union Cemetery, 329 Church Road, Kutztown, with Reverend Arthur L. Hahn officiating. There are no calling hours.
The family requests contributions be made to Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion Honor Guard, 133 Centre Avenue, Topton, PA 19562. The Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., Kutztown is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be recorded at www.ludwickfh.com.
