Jason Heckman Obituary
Our precious Jason battled a monster and then some; so strong and brave, but please don't remember him for that battle. Remember this: he loved baseball, basketball and he dribbled better than any small child I knew. He picked or maybe she picked him the best girlfriend a 4-year-old could have in a beautiful funny witty nurse named Molly, who made the dream of having a blonde girlfriend come true.
Andrew, thank you for singing to him and being his friend.
He was our long, curly-haired blondie as much as he was our perfect bald baby boy. He loved fishing with his Daddy and family, and made the best buddy in a lone duck at Daniel Boone Homestead pond.
He loved the ocean and bumper cars and candy. But most of all he was full of life and love and will be forever missed.
We may have to say table of four, but in our hearts we will forever be table for five. We love you, Jason, and you will always live on in us.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are one sister, Sherry E. Heckman, of Reading, one brother, Brody D. Heckman, of Reading, his maternal grandmother, Sherry Hampton, and grandfather, Harvey Hampton, of Pottstown, maternal grandfather, Frank Bryan, and grandmother, Fran Bryan, of Kutztown, and paternal grandparents, Betty and Richard Heckman, of Stowe.
Jason was predeceased by his brother Derek R. Heckman Jr.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Morrell Funeral Home, 124 W. Philadelphia Ave., Boyertown. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Lobachsville Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Morrell Funeral Home Inc., (www.MorrellFuneralHome.com).

I was so sorry to hear your son earned his angel wings. My little boy lost his battle with that same monster at the same age. There are no words that can help when you lose a child. All one can do is remember all the good things. Just know your baby Jason is no longer fighting the monster he is happy & pain free. He will forever be with you, in your heart & watching over you. Ivy, you and Jason and your whole family have touched my heart. While I don't know you directly, I have followed along with Cindy Mangome, and prayed so many times! You guys are a constant reminder to live each day to the fullest. I am so sorry for your loss of such a young and amazing little man. May you find peace.

Hello.. Ive been keeping up with the posts from Amanda Moyer about Jasons battle and Im at a loss for words. Ivy you are one of the strongest women I know.. I cannot imagine holding my little ones for the last time. Though I dont know you in person I can assure you jason will live on in spirit and My continued prayers and thoughts are with your family as you try to continue your lives as normal as possible. Hes flying with the angels now.. RIP Sweet boy!!!

I didn't know Jason nor do I know any family member. But, after reading this wonderful tribute in his honor I know he was a special little man. What a beautiful tribute to your son. I don't know you, but I feel that you have been blessed to have Jason in your life and the memories of him and everything your families and friends have shared with him will always make you smile. Sometimes we don't understand or become angered, but God(or who ever you praise) has a reason for everything. We just have to have faith. But with a smile with that, you know Jason's got to be happy!

We only had the pleasure of knowing Jason for a very short time, but in that time, we learned to love him like he was a part of our own family. No one else can take his place in our hearts. He meant a lot to many people, but to you (Ivy and Derek)he meant the world. Someone like that, could never be forgotten. Ivy, Derek, Sherry, and Brody, may God bless you with comfort and peace. My favorite picture of Jason is from last summer on the beach with all three kids wet and grinning. Their happiness jumps out of the photo. In December when Jason was looking through the pictures in my phone, he liked several but his face REALLY lit up at a picture of the beach. You guys gave him a wonderful, happy life. Cherish those memories as I'm sure he is too. Love you.
