Jeffrey Kern Obituary

Jeffrey M. Kern, 39, of Wyomissing, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 3, 2016. Jeff has left behind his loving parents, Sandy (Burkhart) and Ed Kern of Sinking Spring, and his brother Ed and his family, Amy and Matthew, of Wyomissing. He is survived by his daughter Samantha, whom he adored. His former wife Kim and his fiancée Andrea are also devastated by Jeff’s passing. He will be missed by his cousins Judi and Debbie and their families who also loved him all his life. Jeff graduated from Wyomissing High School in 1996. He received degrees from Reading Area Community College, the University of Pittsburgh and Northampton County Community College. He worked as a funeral director at numerous funeral homes until health no longer permitted him to do this kind of work. He was especially inspired by Dave and Terry Eames of The Labs Funeral Home, Inc. and Tim Stanton of the Stanton Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., all of whom befriended and mentored him. Jeff was an accomplished musician playing the saxophone throughout his school years and in groups thereafter. Jeff loved visiting the beach and spent as much time as he could in Rehoboth Beach with his family. Jeff was a sweet and loving person with a caring nature. His family and those who loved him will miss his presence among us for the rest of our lives, but his spirit will be with us forever. We pray that God has embraced him in his loving arms. Funeral services will be at Atonement Lutheran Church, 5 Wyomissing Boulevard, Wyomissing, Pa. on Saturday, December 10, 2016 with a visitation from 12:30 to 2:00 PM and a service of Christian burial at 2:00 PM. Graveside services will be private at a later date. Instead of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Common Ground Ministry, Atonement Lutheran Church, 5 Wyomissing Boulevard, Wyomissing, PA 19610. Arrangements by The Labs Funeral Home, Inc. and Stanton Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. For additional information and online condolences, please visit www.thelabsfh.com

I was deeply saddened to hear about your passing. The class of 96' lost a gem. I will continue to smile and remember all the fond memories of HS and you..."saxamaphone". I truly believe there are people we meet that are so special that they leave a mark on all of the hearts of the people they meet. God had other plans for you and moved you to the front of the VIP line. For us it is hard to comprehend because you left us too soon. I pray for your family, friends and love ones that are left behind. Heaven gained a VIP.

I am so sorry to hear about Jeff's passing. He was one of the kindest and sweetest people I've ever known. Though we lost touch after I moved away from PA, I was always so happy to see his updates about his daughter and how happy she made him. I am sending my prayers and love to Samantha, his family, friends and his fiancée. There is one more angel in heaven.

Kern,

I only knew you for a few short years after high school while our bands toured around the pennysylvania ska circuit. I remember you as a kind, sensitive, caring young man with a heart of gold and an eye for style. I'm so sorry to hear that your adventure on this plane has been cut short. I believe in my soul that you made your mark on many, many others, as you have definitely left your impression on me. Thank you. My condolences for all to whom you were close.

Jefferson, at this moment it seems surreal that you are really gone. The bond between us,it's unlike any other relationships we've had in the past but, it seems like God had a different plan for you my Love.
You were an intelligent man who was trying to make his way in this world. You are a great father to your daughter, I know you made her very happy and laugh all the time.
I am so sorry that we lost you...you were my best friend as well as my fiancée. . Jeff's smile is infectious and could light up a room, Jeff, hope you are smiling where ever you may be and God's light is shinning upon you. Well all my heart, I will aways love you,
