Joel M. Keen

Joel M. Keen, 51, of East Coventry Township Joel M. Keen, age 51, husband of Lori S. (Crater) Keen, of East Coventry Township, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 at home after a valiant battle with cancer, with his family at his side. Born in Pottstown on January 17,1959, he was the son of Virginia Ann (Allen) Keen, and the late Walter M. Keen. Mr. Keen grew up in East Coventry. He was a graduate of the Owen J. Roberts High school. He worked for over 16 years at the Doehler-Jarvis plant in Pottstown. When he first married he lived in North Coventry, then moved back to East Coventry to take over Waltann Farm after his father died in 1992. He and his wife owned and operated the boarding stable for 18 years. He took pride in making quality hay. He enjoyed tinkering with machinery, hunting with his son, Nick, fishing, and riding his Triumph Motorcycle with his wife and son, Josh. Mr. Keen, his wife and mother are members of the Coventry Church of the Brethren. In addition to his mother and wife of 30 years, Mr. Keen is survived by two sons, Nicholas, husband of Amber (Ditzler) Keen, of Birdsboro and Joshua A. Keen, of East Coventry; one sister, Joanna (Keen) Overberger, wife of Edward, of Barto, and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA on Tuesday morning, November 23, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Sandford J. Christophel. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Parker Ford. Friends will be received from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
