Leonard Levan Obituary

Leonard (Lenny) Levan of Pottstown, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, July 1, 2021, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s and Esophageal Cancer. He was the son of the late Frank Levan and Winifred (Rotz) Levan. He is survived by a brother, Dennis Levan, Sr. of Douglassville, step brother Frank Levan Jr., Pottstown, and was predeceased by sister, Sharon (Levan) McIlvee and brother Ronald Levan, Sr. Born in Pottstown, Lenny grew up in Lower Pottsgrove where he would spend his summers riding his bike to Sunnybrook Pool, playing down in the creek behind his house, helping his neighbors with their concession stand, and being part of the infamous Park Boys at Manatawny Park. Lenny was a 1966 graduate of Pottsgrove Senior High School. From there he began working at Mrs. Smith’s Pies in Pottstown. He joined the Army where he eventually stationed in the DMZ area during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home in 1969, he continued working for Mrs. Smith’s Pies until they closed in 1998. From there he worked several jobs where he eventually retired from Piazza Honda in Limerick in 2015. Lenny was the loving and devoted husband of Sharon (Richards) Levan for the past 50 years. He was the proud father of daughters Susan (Pottstown) and Linda (Boyertown). In 2012, Lenny was promoted to “Pappy” to his granddaughter, Emma Nester and then again in 2015 to his grandson, Mason Nester. Emma was known as “Pappy’s Princess” and Mason known as “Lil Lenny” as he resembled him as Lenny looked as a child. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Lenny enjoyed in early family moments by camping with his wife and daughters, along with their good friends and their families. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and sitting on his patio listening to music, playing cards and word searches.
