Marian E. (Moser) Moatz, 90, of Boyertown, wife of Paul Moatz Jr., passed away on Thursday, October 14 at Chestnut Knoll in Boyertown. Born in Barto (Crow Hill), she was the daughter of the late Stanley L. and Alice M. (Ziegenfus) Moser. Marian was a lifelong member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Boyertown and a long-time active member of the Boyertown Area YMCA. She worked as a secretary at Boyertown Auto Body Works. She then went on to work for 50 years and retired from Osan Mfg. Co. in Boyertown as the office manager. Marian loved to dance, play cards and games. Her hobby’s included painting and making ceramics which she filled their home with and gave many as gifts. She was a member of the Boyertown Music League and supporter of the Boyertown Alumni Marching Unit. Marian was also a member of the Jr. Woman’s Club of Boyertown where she served as their secretary, and she would also volunteer with the Kitchen Crew in the refreshment stand at Bear Stadium for the American Legion Baseball Team. What she loved most was her family. She loved to cook and bake and always had a cake or something baked for company to drop in and visit or play cards. Marian was dedicated to her family. She never missed a performance, recital, game or concert of her daughter or grandchildren. Her family was everything to her. Surviving with her husband of 70 years is daughter Melanie A. Roth, wife of Eugene; brother Carl L. Moser husband of Joan M.; grandchildren Jonathan Chad Roth, husband of Sarah, and Jeffrey Chase Roth; great grandchildren Janalyn Marie Roth, Karalyn Marie Roth, and Jonathan Alexander Roth; step-great grandchildren Gavin and Michael Ward; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A funeral service will be Thursday, October 21, 11:00AM at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown, with entombment to follow in Limerick Garden of Memories Mausoleum. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30Am to 10:45Am at the church. Memorial donations may be made in Marian’s name to Boyertown Area YMCA, 301 W. Spring Street, Boyertown, PA 19512 or St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading, Ave., Boyertown, PA 19512. Catagnus Funeral Home, Gilbertville is in charge of arrangements.
