MARY PALAMAR, 92, OF PHOENIXVILLE Mary (Popovich) Palamar, 92, of Phoenixville, PA, devoted wife of the late John Palamar Sr., died on Sunday, August 11, 2013 in St. Martha Manor in Downingtown, PA. Born in Czechoslovakia, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Stankovich) Popovich. Mary was a devout member of St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church in Mont Clare, PA, where she was a tireless volunteer who supervised fundraising efforts for the church thru food sales. She taught Catechism classes and sang in the church choir. She worked as a seamstress for Phillip-Jones in Pottsville, PA and worked for many years in the cafeteria of the Phoenixville Area High School. She is survived by her sons, John Palamar Jr. and wife, Geraldine of Westlake, OH; David Palamar of Brigantine, NJ, and Edward Palamar of Phoenixville, PA; and daughter-in-law, Carole Palamar of Milton, DE; sister, Anna Nord of Carlisle, PA; grandchildren, Kimberly Palamar Woods and her husband, Michael, Deborah L. Hackleman, Colette Palamar and her husband, Justin Metcalf, Denise Palamar Yocum, Heather Giovannitti and her husband, Fred and Jordan G. Palamar; step-granddaughter, Kimberly Beal and her husband, Don; great-grandchildren, Griffin, Colin, and Megan Woods, Abigail, Chloe, and Sarah Hackleman, Sabine Metcalf, Federico and Sofia Giovannitti; step great-grandson, Joel Richard Beal, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Palamar, and her brothers, John Popovich, Paul Popovich and George Popovich. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service in St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church, Amelia and Landis Streets, Mont Clare, PA on Friday, August, 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Badeaux and Rev. Nicholas deProspero concelebrating. Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Mont Clare, PA. A viewing will be held on Friday morning in the Devlin Rosmos Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 517 S. Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA from 9 to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary's memory to St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church, 203 Jacob St., Mont Clare, PA 19453.
