Michael Patrick “Mike” Burke, 39, of Westminster, MD passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018 surrounded by his family at Carroll Hospice Dove House, after a courageous 2 year battle with lung cancer. Mike was born on July 15, 1978 in Pottstown, Pennsylvania and was the son of Richard Francis Burke of Phoenixville, PA and Susan Jane (Montgomery) Burke-Mangano and her husband Joseph Mangano of Ocean City, New Jersey. He was the cherished husband of his college sweetheart for 16 ½ years, Michele Lynn Burke, whom he married on July 28, 2001. Mike was a graduate of Pottsgrove High School, class of 1996. He graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Sports Management from York College in 2000. He began a dedicated career that he loved- working in ticket operations for the Ravens in 2000, just in time to see them win Super Bowl XXXV. His competitive nature advanced him to become the director of ticket sales and hospitality for 18 years. Mike was a devoted father to his four children. He loved spending time with them; especially coaching their basketball and soccer teams. Surviving in addition to his parents and wife are adoring children; twins Brennan Michael Burke and Christian Michael Burke, Adam Michael Burke, and Lily Elizabeth Burke; brother Christopher Montgomery Burke of Philadelphia, PA; numerous beautiful nieces and nephews; and a loving large extended family. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 10:30 a.m at the funeral home with Carroll Hospice Chaplain Rev. Art Monroe, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Deer Park Cemetery. The family welcomes for guests to wear purple and black attire if they choose, in honor of Mike’s admiration for the Ravens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Burke Family’s Go Fund Me account at https://www.gofundme.com/6skfzb9e and prefers donations allocated specifically to his children’s education fund. An updated link will be established on Monday with that specific information, please check the funeral home website for that information.. We are so sorry about your great loss.

Mike coached my son for basketball. Mike was a top notch Coach, and all around great person.

We will miss him dearly.

Please take care, and know you are in thoughts and prayers.

I met Mike at Dr. Beals office while we were both undergoing IV treatments. He struck me as a loving family man and a dedicated professional at his job with the Ravens. Despite what he was dealing with, he was positive and optimistic. I'm so sorry for the loss his family has suffered. With sympathy and prayers, Kathy Custer
