Michael C. Furey Sr., 70, of Gilbertsville, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2021 (his 70th birthday) at Seasons Hospice in Phoenixville. Michael was born in Philadelphia, PA to Kathleen and James Furey. He attended Valley Forge Military Academy and Wilmington College. Michael married JoAnne Zelinski. They had two children, Michael and Kyle. Michael is survived by his children and two sisters Kathleen Furey and Sharon Hermann (Robert); sister-in-law Andree Furey and brother-in-law Victor DiCenzo as well as nine very close nieces and nephews along with many great nieces and great nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife JoAnnne, his parents, sister Patricia, brother James, and nephew Joseph. Michael was employed by Lockheed Martin until his retirement in 2009. He was also a proud retiree from the United States Air Force. Michael loved golfing and watching football, but his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family near and far. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 25, 2021, at 11:00AM at St. Columbkill RC Church (200 Indian Spring Rd, Boyertown, PA 19512) with Fr. Rich Clement officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Cheltenham. A viewing will also be held on Monday, October 25, 2021, from 9:00-10:45AM at the church.
