MICHAEL C. MAGUIRE, 48, OF CHESTER SPRINGS Michael C. Maguire, 48, of Chester Springs, passed away from lung cancer after a 2.5-year battle on Saturday, August 9, 2014, at his home. Born at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, he was the son of Mick and Bonnie Maguire of Sharpsburg, Georgia. Mike graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering and was working as a systems engineer for Lockheed Martin in Valley Forge. He was a member of St. Thomas More Parish in Pottstown, where he was a lector. Mike loved spending time with his family and friends, working on his home and garden, and enjoyed music and computers. Five months ago, his wife Marcella Byrnes Maguire, died suddenly, after 12 years of marriage. Mike is survived by his daughter, Frances; his parents; his sisters, Erin and Molly Maguire and her husband Robert Fritz; his nieces Bridgette, Colleen, and Fiona; his nephews Daniel, O'Brien, and Dolan; his in-laws Dave and Sheila (Byrnes) Horning and O'Brien and Sandra Byrnes. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 15, at James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Parish, 2101 Pottstown Pike, Pottstown, followed by interment at St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester.
