Paul Bankes Obituary

PAUL E. BANKES SR., 89, OF SPRING CITY Paul E. Bankes Sr., 89, of Spring City, husband of the late Mae E. (Shuman) Bankes, passed away on Thursday at Manatawny Manor in Pottstown. Born in Beaver Valley, PA, he was a son of the late Ella (Gotshall) Bankes, and the late Henry Bankes. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, and a former long time employee of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family. Paul is survived by his children, Edward P. Bankes, husband of June, of Birdsboro; Ella M. Bieber, wife of Daniel, of Daytona Beach, FL; Lois J. Miller, of Spring City; Paul E. Bankes Jr., husband of Robin, of Spring City, and Henry E. Bankes, of Spring City; his sister, Ella Wolfe, of Bloomsburg; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Paul was also preceded in death by his many brothers and sisters. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service with Military Honors on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Highland Memorial Park in Pottstown.
