Paul D. Shaffer

Paul D. “Bud” Shaffer, 89, of Hollow Rd., Upper Providence Twp., died Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at Phoenixville Hospital. Bud was born on November 11, 1928, in Phoenixville. He was a son of the late Charles B. and Emily (Weber) Shaffer. Bud was a graduate of Collegeville – Trappe High School. He served as a Private 1st Class, in Company M, 160th Infantry Regiment, US Army, in Korea, during the Korean War Before retiring, Bud was a self-employed plasterer. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Bud is survived by his brothers, David Shaffer, Upper Providence Twp., and John, husband of Karen Shaffer, Amberson, PA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Calvin, husband of Mildred Shaffer, New Jersey, and Margery, wife of the late Stephen Human. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, Dec. 22nd, at the Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., 21 Main St., Trappe, with the Rev. Thomas T. Kochenderfer, Jr., officiating. Burial will be in Providence Mennonite Cemetery, Upper Providence Twp. Friends may call from 10:00 to 10:45 AM, Friday, at the funeral home.
