Robert Fulmer Obituary

Robert L. Fulmer, 86, husband of Jean M. (Wolf) Fulmer, of Church Rd., Lower Frederick Township, died Friday, at home.

Mr. Fulmer was born on April 9, 1925, in Lower Frederick Township. He was a son of the late Wilmer F. and Edna M. (Smith) Fulmer.

During World War II, Mr. Fulmer served as a Private First Class in the 81 mm Mortar Platoon of Company D, 9th Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, in France, Belgium, Germany, and Czechoslovakia. He earned the Combat Infantryman's Badge and received the Purple Heart.

Mr. Fulmer retired in 1987, from Doehler – Jarvis, Inc., West Pottsgrove Township, where he was a maintenance mechanic for 37 years.

Mr. Fulmer was a member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a former member of the church council. He also was a past commander and former chaplain of Roy S. Leidy Post #203, Schwenksville; a former tax assessor for Lower Frederick Township: and a former Cub Scout volunteer.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Fulmer is survived by his children, Brian L., husband of Christine (Richter) Fulmer, Lower Salford Township, Karen L., wife of Robert Smith, Lower Providence Township, and Todd L., husband of Linda (Diesinger) Fulmer, Perkiomen Township; his grandchildren, Alicia (Smith), wife of Daniel Bergey, Scott Smith, Craig Smith, and Joshua Fulmer; his great-granddaughter, Taylor Bergey; and his sister, Ethel V. Pavese, Bath, NY. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Leon S. Fulmer and Gladys F. Shellington.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Second and Church streets, Schwenksville, with the Rev. Daniel M. Schaefer, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Schwenksville Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday, at church. Memorial contributions may be made to Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 311 Second St., Schwenksville, PA 19473. Arrangements are by the Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., Trappe.
