Robert Ottinger Obituary

Robert M. Ottinger, age 85, husband of Christine E. (Pieper) Ottinger passed away January 22, 2024 in Phoenixville Hospital. He was born September 6, 1938 in Pottstown, but lived his entire life on the same property in East Pikeland Township. He was the son of the late Malcolm and Dorothy (Kieffer) Ottinger. He was a welder and machinist and took over Ottinger Machine Co., Inc. when his father retired. Robert was extremely proud of the quality of the "Mighty Samson" hammermills that the company produces. He was a member of the Reading LiederKranz, Kimberton Grange, Oley Valley Heritage Association and Swiss Pioneer Preservation Associates. Robert enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping, hunting and fishing. He was always interested and active at home on his farm and tending the animals. In addition to his wife of 63 years, he is survived by 2 children: Son, Wayne R. husband of Milagros Ottinger; Daughter, Lois D. Ottinger. Grandson, Robert D. Ottinger. As requested, services will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to The Salvation Army at www.givesalvationarmyusa.org.
