Ronald Stott Obituary

Ronald Clarence Stott passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. He was 79 years old. He was born on July 29, 1943, in Philadelphia to the late Albert William and Irene Helen (Roth) Stott, Sr. Ron went to William Tennent High School and upon graduation he attended West Chester University earning a BS of Education degree. In addition, he obtained a Master of Arts degree from Villanova University. Ron taught in the Tredyffrin Easttown (T/E) School District for 36 years at Valley Forge and T/E middle schools. He was a coach for numerous school sports teams. He was a leader in his local education association and remained active in PSEA after his retirement in 2001 until his death. When he was not teaching, he enjoyed home projects, working in the woods in his yard, doing puzzles and crosswords (in ink!), and visiting with family. He was also a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan and was filled with happiness and disbelief when they finally won the Super Bowl. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Leslie A. (Ferriman) Stott; daughter Stephanie (Jimmy) of Conway, MA, son Gregory (Tricia) of Lebanon, NH, daughter Heather (Brian) of Pottstown, PA, son James of Pottstown, PA, and son Jeffrey of Pottstown, PA; grandchildren Jaime (Jeremy), Seth (Amanda), Grace, Julian, Annabelle, Emebet, Cooper, Emma, Sam, Megan, and Molly; great-grandchildren Reid and Eliot; and many other close friends and family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Richard and Albert. Services will be held at St. James Lutheran Church, 1101 East High Street, Pottstown, PA 19464 at 11am on Friday, December 9, 2022. Everyone is invited to join the family at the Norco Fire Hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the PSEA Education Foundation. https://www.psea.org/contact-us/work-for-psea/psea-foundation/ Arrangements by the Cremation Society of Pennsylvania at King of Prussia.

I miss our verbal bantering over the Steelers and Eagles. I'm sure you would
be all over me about the Steelers loss yesterday. Guess I will be rooting for the
Eagles today in memory of you.

Mr. Stott was my Geography teacher at VFJH in 73/74, 74/75 and 75/76. He was also the School store coordinator, a job I held for my tenure there. He also was my soccer coach. I took that inspiration to a D-1 scholarship in 1980. He was a tough man, a leader, a great educator and a man who helped inspire me to teach and coach. I retired in 2017 after 27 years teaching in Colorado. Now retired in New Mexico. Mr. Stott, just wanted to say thanks for the impact you had on my life.

Mr Stott was my 8th and 9th grade social studies teacher at T/E Jr HS...and 8 years later I became his colleague at Valley Forge MS. Ron had a tremendous enthusiasm while serving as a representative of the Teacher's Association and reached out to me to get me involved. After he retired, I was fortunate that he continued in an advisory role and helped countless teachers navigate retirement. Very saddened to hear of his sudden passing, and my condolences to Leslie and family. Fortunate to have known him and the impact he made on me

Dearest Family, we offer our condolences. Ron was a terrific man. We met him as a retired PSEA officer. He was so wise and careful to speak for his members. His questions and comments at our meetings were always spot on. He was ever kind and there was a little impishness in his eyes. Your chosen picture captures the look perfectly. We will miss him as a friend and a great union leader.

Deepest sympathies to the Stott family. Ron was always kind to me on the PSEA-Retired Board, where he was a respected voice. Find peace in knowing he was admired by all who associated with him.

Mr. Stott and I really got to know each other one hot Virginia summer afternoon almost a quarter-century ago loading Heather´s furniture! Many times we visited Mr. Stott and his wonderful family, and to know him was a pleasure in full. Heather, I am so very sorry about his passing. You and your family have been foremost in my thoughts. He was a dear man - a gentleman of the first order.

Leslie and the Stott Family: Ron and I developed a special relationship during our years at Valley Forge Jr High. We shared many things that I will always remember, especially times at the Trey Tavern.
We were in each other´s wedding and Ron and Leslie became best friends with Jane and me.In 1970 I left Valley Forge and moved back to Berwick. We didn´t see each other very often but we often thought of you. Rest In Peace my dear friend, and Leslie I will be in touch with you. Love you muchly. Bob

For a couple of years, Ron and I comprised the Geography team at Valley Forge Junior High. Nothing but fond memories! Ron was a man who always stood his ground on what he believed in. He was always a friend through thick and thin. He only asked,"How can I help?" Ron, you will be missed. RIP
