THOMAS J. DURKIN OF OCEAN CITY, NJ Thomas J. Durkin of Ocean City, NJ died suddenly, on October 14, 2015, doing what he loved - riding his bike to see the sunrise over his beach. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving wife of over 40 years, JoAnne; his children Heather (Bryan) Durkin-Thomas and Thomas Durkin; his grandchildren, Abigail and Joseph, and his siblings, Dennis (Karen) Durkin, James (Kim) Durkin, Timothy (Mary Jane) Durkin and Mary Pat (Timothy) O’Shea. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas M. Durkin and Mary Jane Durkin (née Usilton). After graduating from Archbishop Ryan High School, Tom obtained an “RTF” degree from Temple University, his Nursing degree from Albert Einstein Medical Center School of Nursing, and a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from St. Joseph’s University. He was the Chief Clinical Officer at Vibra Healthcare in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and enjoyed working with the staff of its various hospitals around the country. Tom was an avid fan of Temple Football and Basketball, the Phillies and the Eagles. He was a friend of Bill W. and was known for his sunrise photographs stating “Members Welcome”. Services in his honor will be held on Monday, October 19, 2015 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 4308 Landis Ave., Sea Isle City, New Jersey. Visitation starts at 9 a.m. followed by mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Seaside Cemetery, Palermo, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Caron Foundation’s Tom Durkin Memorial Scholarship Fund. JoAnn, Heather and Tommy,
My heart-felt sympathy to you all. I knew Tom through our mutual friend Bill W. Although I didn't see him much since you moved to Ocean City. He had a way of greeting me when we saw each other that let me know I was his friend, and for that I will be forever grateful. You all will remain in my prayers.

St.Thomas of More..you always got a kick out of that when I called you that! I will miss your kind loving ways. My last memory of you was at the pool, you were bobbing around the pool with your grandchildren, Abigail and Joey hanging on to you.
